Home Stay Cultural Tour

The programme runs for 24 days and is ideal for those who would love to learn about and experience local culture. The participants of a home stay tour are housed by carefully selected hosts. Five days are spent with the host family while the remaining days are spent touring.

DAY PLACE
Day 1 Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Nairobi
  • You will be met by a representative from Miki Tours who will transfer you to our Guesthouse for dinner, accommodation and breakfast.
Day 2 Tour Of Nairobi
  • Guided tour of Nairobi city center to include Shopping areas, Parliament buildings, National Musuem of Kenya, Snake Park & the Kenyatta National Conference Centre for an aerial view of the city.
Day 3-5 Volunteer
  • Volunteer at an orphanage with activities such as teaching english, maths or extra-curricular activities such as music, drama and sports. Cultural tour fee includes a donation to the home in the form of much needed supplies which you will bring to the home as a gift on your first day.
Day 6-10 Mountain Trek
  • See the Beautiful sights after trekking to the top of some of the highest peaks in Kenya. Option to climb either Mt. Kenya or Mt. Elgon depending on your level of fitness.
Day 11-13 Village Homestay
  • Spend these days in a rural village where you will get a taste of real Kenyan Culture. Activities include picking pyrethrum from the farm, chopping the firewood, milking the cows, delivering milk to the diary and learning how to prepare traditional Kenyan meals.
Day 14 Masai Mara
  • Travel from Nairobi to the Masai Mara through the great rift valley with its spectactular views. You will arrive at the Park late afternoon and enjoy an evening game drive.
Day 15 Masai Mara
  • From our base camp, a full day is spent game viewing and exploring this natural wonder. The rolling plains are stocked not only with the well-known predatory wildlife, but is the destination for thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle in their spectacular annual midyear migration.
Day 16 Masai Mara
  • After an early morning game drive you will visit a Masai Village where you can interact with the local tribe.
Day 17 Hells Gate
  • Trek through the spectacular gorges with amazing views and see the hot springs.
Day 18-23 Mombasa
  • Travel to the coastal town of Mombasa to wind down during the end of your holiday by relaxing at the beach.
Day 24 Departure
  • Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for Departure.
