The currency of Kenya is the Kenya Shilling (KSh) which comes in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500, & 100 in paper - coins come in denominations of 5, 10 & 20. 100 cents is equal to 1 KSh.
Major credit cards such as Visa & Mastercard are widely accepted in Kenya and almost every bank has their own ATM which accepts these. In the major cities such as Nairobi & Mombasa you will also find 24 hour ATMs so you'll never be without cash.
